LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Leadership Coaching

What is coaching?

Coaching is defined by the International Coaching Federation as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.” Essentially, coaching is a goal-oriented, structured conversation that focuses on where you are and where you’re trying to be, then coming up with an action plan to get there. It invites deep self-reflection for the purpose of meaningful and sustainable change and personal growth.

What coaching is not:

Coaching is not counselling or psychotherapy. It is also not about giving advice or teaching. It is not mentoring, consulting, or top-down/expert-led.

Who is coaching for?

This service is available to all students across campus who are interested in growing as leaders in any capacity, personally and professionally.

To book, email kbibbs@ubishops.ca or via https://outlook.office365.com/owa/calendar/AcademicCoaching@ubishops.ca/bookings/

Group coaching is also available for teams. To book, email kbibbs@ubishops.ca.

Residence Life: Leadership Community

What it is: The Leadership Community takes a curricular approach to facilitate student leadership development. With the support of campus resources and fellow program peers, students will positively contribute to their communities while developing their leadership potential through various experiential learning opportunities.

Who it is for: Students living in residence can apply to join the Leadership Community, where they will be called upon by other campus leaders to complete a series of missions inspired by community needs. By working through these missions, students will develop individual and collective skills that go beyond their university experience.
