An email notification will be sent to you prompting you to log into Accommodate when you are initially approved for accommodations or when you complete a semester request. You must review and sign your Accommodation Letter when you are sent this email notification. It is your responsibility to register or renew your accommodations every semester since the Accommodation letter is targeted to the courses that you are registered in.

How to complete a Semester Request (or Renew your Accommodations)?

Since last Winter, we have implemented the Autorenewal process for all registered SAS Students taking courses. This autorenewal is done at the start of every Semester and will renew all renewable accommodations such as exam room, extra time and other exam accommodations. There are some accommodations that are not auto renewed, like Deadline flexibility, Advanced access to Slides/handouts and tutoring. If you wish to renew these, you will have to meet with an Accessibility Specialist either by coming to a SAS Drop-in or booking an appointment with your Accessibility Specialist.

You can still request a Semester renewal through Accommodate but it is no longer needed to ensure your accommodations will be applied to the courses you are taking.

Use the following steps to complete this task:

  1. Log into Accommodate using the How to Access Accommodate instructions above.
  2. Click on the Accommodation tab on the left sidebar and then select Semester Request from the sub-menu.
  3. Once you read and sign it, click on the Add New
  4. Select the Semester you wish to renew your accommodations. Your courses will appear on the right-hand side. If your courses do not appear, this means either you aren’t registered in any courses or our system hasn’t updated to include your registration. Please come back and try again later.
  5. You will also see in the blue box above the Semester dropdown, the list of your approved accommodations.
  6. Select Submit for All Accommodations or Review the Renewal.
    • If you select the Submit for All Accommodations, you are requesting that all your accommodations are applied to all your next semester courses.
    • If you select Review the Renewal, you can review your approved accommodations and delete them as necessary. If you know a particular accommodation is no longer effective, you can opt to delete it for that semester. Complete this process for each accommodation listed
  7. If you add or drop any courses after you complete the semester request for the same semester, please notify SAS immediately.
  8. You will receive an email notification to log into Accommodate to view your Semester Request Decision Letter once the renewal is processed. You need to review and sign this letter.
