Tell Your Story: A Day in Research or Artistic Mode!

This year, the Office of Research and Graduate Studies is teaming up with the Bishop’s University Film Festival (BUFF) to bring a new twist to our annual Creative Art Competition.

Instead of showcasing artworks during Research Week 2026, we’re going cinematic!
Students are invited to create a short documentary (3–5 minutes) capturing their research projects.

Whether you want to highlight your project, share behind-the-scenes challenges, or reflect on your life as a researcher, this is your chance to bring your work to life on screen.

What can you film?

This is wide open! A few ideas to get you started:

  • A day in the lab, field, or on the Educational Farm
  • Experiments in action or how you work with your data
  • Collaborating with the athletes or community partners
  • Behind-the-scenes of your project or “a day in your shoes” as a researcher or artist
  • And more!

Who can participate?

  • Undergraduate and Graduate students from all disciplines.
  • Solo or team submissions welcome.

Why participate?

  • Share your artistic creation or research, in a new creative way.
  • Gain experience in storytelling and filmmaking.
  • Be part of BUFF 2026 and have your documentary screened!

Prizes

  • 1st Place: $250
  • 2nd Place: $150
  • 3rd Place: $100
  • Coup de Coeur Award: chosen by the Bishop’s University community (staff, librarians, etc.)
