The Continuous Dining Experience – ‘All You Care to Eat’

What is “Continuous Dining”?

Students with “Continuous Dining” (Hearty Eater, Square Mealer or Flexible Diner) can use their Student Card at Dewhurst Dining Hall between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Monday to Sunday and can eat as much as they wish. Students swipe their card upon entering the dining hall and have access to everything being served, as often as they wish.

New from last year students will have the opportunity to visit the New Purple Pod Food Venue located in the Student Centre for our late night offerings. Students will have a value of $9.50 to use for late night as part of our continuous dining meal plans which are the Flexible, Square Mealer and Hearty Eater.

Dewhurst Dining Hall

Our guiding principles are to offer the best possible dining experience for our students while maintaining the health and safety of our students and staff. Our goal is to ensure physical distancing while providing some level of social interaction for those who utilize the dining hall. We also want to focus on the student experience and try to find ways to keep our students engaged and make their experience enjoyable while they are in the dining hall within this new reality. Our goal is to provide a creative and unique dining experience for our students. For any concerns related to your dining experience while in the dining hall please ask to speak with one of the supervisors or contact residence@ubishops.ca or campusdining@ubishops.ca. We will be happy to address any questions or concerns.

Access to Dewhurst Dining Hall from 7:30 am to 9:00 pm, 7 days a week, for the ‘all you care to eat’ continuous dining experience.
$9.50 (tax included) daily to use at the Student Centre food venue between 9:00 pm and 11:00 pm.

The continuous dining plans allow for unlimited swipes at Dewhurst Dining Hall, you will never run out of swipes.

What is the difference between Gaiter Dollars, and Dining Dollars?

Gaiter Dollars can be used for a large majority of campus services, such as printing, retail purchases, etc…

Dining Dollars, which are tax free funds associated with the Square or Hearty Meal Plans can be used at any Dining
Location on campus. They cannot be used for any other campus service. If you choose to add additional monies to your dining dollars account associated with your Flex, Square or Hearty meal plan they will also be tax free.

I want to give input on my on-campus dining experience, who should I contact?

Residence Life and Accommodation & Event Services manages the Campus Dining Committee. The committee meetings are always open, and it’s a great way to provide input. Email campusdining@ubishops.ca for more information.

Can anyone buy a meal plan?

Any member of the Champlain or the Bishop’s Community can buy a meal plan. Visit Paterson Hall or call ext. 2685.

Dewies is an amazing place. It is open all the time and just makes life so much simpler. I do not have to worry about grocery shopping, or meal planning. All I have to do is walk in and get my Student ID swiped. A huge variety of food is available all the time, whether it be a crêpe for breakfast in the morning or a cheeseburger and fries for a late night meal. After my meal, I don’t even have to do dishes! Also a friend is always in Dewies, so I never have to eat alone. My life as a student is simpler with Dewies. It gives me more time in my day to focus on my studies, or get a few extra minutes of sleep in the morning.Aidan Peck
