A focus on supporting educational leaders to enact change and innovation in an educational context

Our Mandate:

Educational leadership involves:

  1. working with and guiding educators to improve educational processes in our institution and communities,
  2. building leadership capacities in students, faculty, and staff,
  3. acting in an advisory capacity for conversations around institutional and governmental policies.

Support & Activities:

  • Engage faculty and librarians in conversations around pedagogical development
  • Promote informed dialogue across a range of topics in higher education
  • Participate in conversations around the learning commons
  • Support innovative practices and educational opportunities for a broad range of knowledge partners (e.g. Academic Microbrewery)
  • Inform our community about engagement opportunities in teaching and learning (e.g. STLHE, ISSoTL), etc
  • Shape conversations and act as a resource for larger institutional issues/conversations (e.g. student evaluations, online learning)
  • Cultivate capacities for educational leadership on our campus and externally for faculty and librarians
  • Cultivate capacities for educational leadership on our campus and externally for students
  • Disseminate knowledge to academics and non-academic knowledge users
  • Participate as members of national and international organizations devoted to teaching and learning in higher education
