Research on Scholarly Teaching
A focus on supporting educational leaders to enact change and innovation in an educational context
Our mandate:
- Educational leadership involves
- working with and guiding educators to improve educational processes in our institution and communities,
- building leadership capacities in students, faculty, and staff,
- acting in an advisory capacity for conversations around institutional and governmental policies.
Support & Activities
- Engage faculty and librarians in conversations around pedagogical development
- Promote informed dialogue across a range of topics in higher education
- Participate in conversations around the learning commons
- Support innovative practices and educational opportunities for a broad range of knowledge partners (e.g. Academic Microbrewery)
- Inform our community about engagement opportunities in teaching and learning (e.g. STLHE, ISSoTL), etc
- Shape conversations and act as a resource for larger institutional issues/conversations (e.g. student evaluations, online learning)
- Cultivate capacities for educational leadership on our campus and externally for faculty and librarians
- Cultivate capacities for educational leadership on our campus and externally for students
- Disseminate knowledge to academics and non-academic knowledge users
- Participate as members of national and international organizations devoted to teaching and learning in higher education
