Joshua Brown

Joshua Brown ’09

Joshua holds a B.A. in Political Science from Bishop’s University and an M.B.A. from the Ivey School of Business at Western University.

Joshua is currently Vice-President at ICONIQ Capital, a global investment management firm, where he is responsible for client partnerships in Asia Pacific. He works with the firm’s community of family office clients, investors in the firm’s sponsored strategies, and other leaders from the private, public, and civil society space. His areas of focus span direct and third-party investing, philanthropy, and family office strategy.

Originally from Canada, Joshua has spent much of his career working internationally, including more than a decade working on, or in, Asia Pacific. Joshua most recently served at the World Economic Forum, where he had responsibility for growing and engaging the Forum’s community of private sector partners in Asia Pacific. In previous roles, Joshua has worked in Singapore, Geneva, Toronto, Yangon, Bangkok, and Kuala Lumpur in government, consulting, and civil society positions.

Joshua is a passionate ski mountaineer and alpine climber; interests he developed as a Bishop’s student during a ski trip to Jay Peak. He is fascinated by old Land Rovers and is currently in the process of restoring an original classic. When not at work or in the mountains, you can typically find him spending time with his wife, Marine, and twin daughters, Scarlett and Victoria.

Hélène Champoux

Hélène Champoux ’04

Hélène is an international business leader whose journey from small-town Quebec to Asia has been defined by courage, curiosity, and a sense of adventure — sometimes planned, sometimes not.

She graduated from Bishop’s University in 2004 with a B.B.A., concentration Finance. She landed her first job at Hydro-Québec one semester before completing her degree, after a chance encounter in Paris with the man who would become her future boss. He offered her a position on his team after watching her argue passionately with an airline agent over a last-minute flight home. At Hydro-Québec, she built a 12-year career managing the heritage pool, investor relations, and major commercial agreements.

Life then took a turn and brought her to China, where she worked on the international commodity trading desk of a sales office for Aluminum Corporation of China, an experience she jokingly calls “an executive M.B.A. on steroids.” It was intense, unpredictable, and deeply eye-opening, the kind of education that only real life delivers.

Then came another leap of faith, to Singapore, where she traded the security of corporate life for the uncertainty of entrepreneurship. There, she helped build Galen Growth into a leading global HealthTech market-intelligence company.

Today, Hélène has come full circle, back in the energy sector, working with the Government of Québec in Singapore. She supports Québec companies in cleantech and sustainability as they expand across Southeast Asia. For her, this work feels like closing the loop, giving back to her home province while helping shape a more sustainable global future.

Trevor Golding

Trevor Golding ’08

Trevor Golding is an entrepreneur and innovator in Canada’s ag-tech sector, dedicated to advancing sustainable plant production and the future of controlled environment agriculture. After graduating from Bishop’s University in 2008 with a B.B.A. in Finance and Economics, Trevor started his career in business development before deciding to venture out on his own in 2017. Combining his passion for business and technology, he founded Gold Leaf Technologies Inc., a company specializing in horticultural lighting and environmental optimization systems for commercial growers. Building on that success, he launched FutureProp, a venture focused on revolutionizing plant propagation through science-driven methods and partnerships across North America.

With nearly a decade of experience bridging the gap between agricultural science, commercial production, and innovation strategy, Trevor has become a trusted voice in the ag-tech community. His collaborative leadership and forward-thinking approach earned him recognition as one of Greenhouse Canada’s Top 4 Under 40 in 2023, highlighting his role in helping shape the next generation of sustainable food production.

Trevor credits much of his personal and professional success to his time at Bishop’s University. It was there that he not only built a strong foundation for his career but also met his wife, Johanna ’09. Today, they are raising their family while managing two businesses together, continuing to live out the values of hard work, community, and innovation that Bishop’s helped inspire. When he is not working, Trevor channels that same passion into traveling, golfing, and tending to his garden.

Wilfrid Greaves

Will Greaves ’06

An award-winning educator, researcher, and academic leader, Will has written more than 30 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and has three books: Canadian EcopoliticsBreaking Through: Understanding Sovereignty and Security in the Circumpolar Arctic, and One Arctic: The Arctic Council and Circumpolar Governance. He received the University of Victoria’s Social Sciences Early Career Teaching Excellence Award in 2022 and Early Career Research Excellence Award in 2023.

Will served on the Capital Regional District Arts Advisory Council, as an executive on his strata council, and as a member of the Liberal riding association in Victoria. He was elected Member of Parliament for Victoria in April 2025 and serves on the House of Commons Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and the Standing Committee on National Defence.

He is grateful to live with his wife, Carolyn ’07, and their daughter in a quiet beach community on southern Vancouver Island in the traditional territories of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples. In his spare time, he likes to bike, cook, sauna, pet dogs, and walk in the woods.

Philippe Vennes

Philippe Vennes ’11

Philippe is a business leader and entrepreneur from Quebec City. After graduating with distinction from Bishop’s in 2011 with a B.B.A. in Finance and Economics, Vennes was selected as one of only 36 students chosen from over 1,000 applicants for The Next 36, Canada’s premier entrepreneurship program. Though he initially aspired to a Wall Street career, this experience inspired him to chart his own entrepreneurial path in Quebec.

In late 2011, Vennes joined his family’s company, FLB Solutions Alimentaires – a Quebec City-based food distributor his grandfather founded. He modernized systems and expanded the business, and by 2016, at age 28, he became President, guiding the company to over 50% growth within four years. Under his leadership, FLB broadened its services across Quebec, diversified its client base and led the company through rapid expansion and resilient pivots.

Today, FLB is a 100-plus-person organization known for speed, reliability, and a culture that is anchored in three core values: passion, audacity, and rigor.

In a market dominated by multinational competitors, these values differentiate FLB as an agile, founder-led challenger that wins by being closer to the customer, sharper in its operations, and unafraid to try what others will not.

Philippe’s ambition is clear: triple the business over the next five years while protecting the service promise that built FLB’s reputation. He credits that goal to a great and dedicated team. His leadership focus is simple: set a bold direction, empower the experts closest to the work, measure what matters, and celebrate progress together.

James Yurichuk

James Yurichuk ’09

After a successful run as a football player in the CFL, where he was part of the 2011 Grey Cup winning team, James channeled his drive into entrepreneurship. He went on to found Wuxly, a Toronto-based company specializing in engineered apparel for defense and civilian markets. His products are made in Canada and designed to perform in the harshest conditions. Wuxly is a major supplier to the Canadian Armed Forces.

James is passionate about sustainability and philanthropy. He is a former Member of the Board of Directors of Fashion Takes Action, a nonprofit advancing sustainable fashion through education, events, and advocacy. He is a Member of the Young Presidents’ Organization, a global community of young leaders committed to personal growth, peer learning, and driving impact through their high-achieving businesses.

Guided by a commitment to innovation, integrity, and community, James has led Wuxly into global markets, working on projects ranging from NATO collaborations to supporting Ukraine’s rebuilding efforts. Outside of business, James is passionate about coaching, mentorship, and using sport and entrepreneurship to build resilient communities.
