The Young Alumna/Alumnus of the Year Award was established to recognize an individual who graduated in the past five years.

Nominated by their peers, recipients embody the spirit of Bishop’s through their professional achievements or community service. Pascale Desmarais ’22 is the 2024 recipient.

Pascale Desmarais has developed a diverse career path in the Games industry since graduating from Bishop’s in June 2022. She has worked and/or volunteered for the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games, P.E.I. 2023 Canada Winter Games, the 2023 IIHF Women’s World Hockey Championship, the 2023 North American Indigenous Games, and now works at the Canadian Olympic Committee. Not only has she proven herself to be a dedicated, hardworking individual, she will also graduate from the University of Ottawa this spring with a Master’s in Human Kinetics, with a concentration in Sport Management.

Pascale has also given back to Bishop’s whenever the chance has been presented to her. She was a guest speaker at the Sports Studies Summit, as well as a guest lecturer in a Sports Studies class dealing with venue and event management.

In appreciation of her career achievements and her willingness to give back to Bishop’s with her time, it is our honour to award her with the Young Alumna of the Year 2024.
