    Become a part of an amazing community!

    Living Learning Communities (LLCs) offer students living in residence a unique opportunity to live in a close-knit community with peers who share similar interests and values. These communities help bring students together to kick-start your university experience. Sharing experiences, having fun and providing opportunities for personal growth are the aims of this program. The Living Learning Communities are also supported by a Residence Life staff member who will provide tailored extra-curricular experiences and opportunities. Students from all academic disciplines and varying stages of study are welcome to apply. All you need is an interest in the community’s theme and a desire to participate throughout the year.

    The Leadership Floor – Hodder

    The Leadership Floor builds the foundation of a Bishop’s student leader. Through various workshops, group activities and special guests, students living in this community will develop the necessary skills needed to navigate the complexities of leadership. Students living in this community will be prepared to take on student leadership roles throughout the university and beyond! 

    Joining this community means joining other like-minded people who want to maximize their Bishop’s experience. It means joining a group of students who don’t just want to attend BU but help shape it. 

    New for Fall 2024 – French Immersion Floor – Abbott

    Bishop’s University Residence Life Team, in collaboration with the Department of French and Quebec Studies has created a French Immersion LLC to bring together students who are interested in French language and Quebec culture. The French Immersion LLC will welcome students of all language levels, providing an opportunity to enrich their appreciation of all aspects of French and Quebec culture, language, traditional and sustainable cuisine, entertainment, and sports, amongst other things.

    New for Fall 2024 – Eco Floor – Paterson

    Immerse yourself in the vibrant world of sustainability on the Eco Floor, dedicated to environmental and social sustainability. The Eco Floor is more than just a place to live, it’s a community where students actively shape the future of our planet. Here, you’ll craft and execute action plans, fostering sustainable habits in your daily life while enjoying the freedom to champion the sustainability aspects that resonate most with you. Whether it’s advocating for policy change, making personal lifestyle adjustments, or organizing impactful events, The Eco Floor empowers you to lead the way toward a harmonious coexistence with our planet. Discover your potential for positive change; The Eco Floor awaits the next generation of eco-conscious leaders!     How to Apply

    Submit an application form below by May 31st, 2024.

    Eligibility Requirements:

    • Submit a 500-word essay or 3-minute video
    • Commit to living in the New Residence amongst peers also in the program
    • Attend and complete at least 80% of the outlined curriculum
    • $50 Fee (The associated fee provides you with free or reduced-price access to the following: Swag Kit, Workbooks, Activities, Field Trips, and more.)

    • Why do you want to join the Leadership LLC?
    • What do you hope to gain from this community?
    • What prior experience do you have in community building or leadership?
    • What impact do you hope to have at Bishop’s?

    Note: Students who do not actively participate in the LLC may be moved to allow access for other applicants to join without a refund and applicable room transfer fees.
