The Bishop’s University Psychology Clinic (BUPC) is dedicated to the professional training of psychology students as well as university research in psychology. The clinic provides psychological services in French and in English to the community.

Our team is made up of doctoral students in clinical psychology. They are supervised by licensed psychologists, members of the Ordre des psychologues du Québec.

Services

Psychological services (assessment and therapy) are available in English and in French for the following clientele and problematics:

  • Attention or concentration difficulties
  • Learning disabilities
  • Emotion regulation difficulties
  • Stress or anxiety
  • Depressive symptoms
  • Stress or anxiety
  • Interpersonal difficulties
  • Difficulties related to life changes or challenges (grief, illness, divorce)
  • Communication difficulties
  • Conflict management
  • Sexual difficulties

Limitations

Due to limitations imposed by the training of student and the university calendar, please note that the clinic does not offer the following services:

  • Psychological emergencies
  • Psycho-legal assessments
  • Drug and alcohol treatment

Also note that people with longer-term psychological needs will be referred to other professional resources and that we do not accept requests from SAAQ, IVAC, CNESST, etc.

Psychotherapy is offered to members of the Sherbrooke community on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to high demand, please be aware that only a limited number of patients can be seen each year. Please also note that members of Bishop’s staff will be redirected to the Employee Wellness support service.
