BU offers some of the best residence accommodations in Canada! You get to pick from 7 different buildings. They all have common areas, communal kitchens available 24/7 (even if you have a meal plan), study spaces, and a room to really make your own. Oh, and if you already have a friend on campus or coming here with someone you know, you can apply to be roommates!

Bog-Style

Your very own space with a shared bathroom for you and your bogmate. Perfect for those independent Gaiters who want to make a space their own.

Traditional

A university classic. A room to yourself or shared with one other person. Great for getting into the university experience and for those looking to make connections right away.

Suite Style

Apartment style suite for up to four people! Bring your friends or meet new ones when you arrive. Each suite has a kitchen and dining room space, perfect for those who love home cooking.

Oh, and the food. Did we mention Dewies? Our meal plans are unlimited, meaning you can eat as many times per day as you’d like. Meal plans are required for all residences, save for those staying at Paterson Hall. Vegetarian and vegan options are always available!

In addition to Dewies, there are several other places on campus to grab a bite, whether you want to sit down or take something to go; the Library Café, the Bus Stop Café, and of course a Tim Hortons located in the Sports Complex, as well as the newest addition, The Purple Pod, a cafeteria style hang-out area that’s great for studying or meeting up with friends between classes and has a daily menu along with classics.

Once you are settled, the fun is just getting started. There is a team at Bishop’s dedicated to making your time living on campus as memorable and comfortable as possible. Their mission is “to develop a residence life atmosphere conducive to personal and educational growth, and respect for oneself and others”.

Lennoxville, Sherbrooke and the Surrounding Area

Choosing Bishop’s means that you will be living in one of the most beautiful regions in the country. Our campus is located in the Eastern Townships of Québec, in the quaint bilingual town of Lennoxville. Venture deeper into the city of Sherbrooke (10-minute drive from campus), known for its cultural diversity and plentiful entertainment options. There are lots of things to do in the Eastern Townships and surrounding area. If you love the outdoors, you’ll be happy to know there’s not only hiking trails connecting to the campus but a golf course too. The city isn’t far either, with Montreal being only 1.5 hours away and the US Border only 30 minutes.

Things to Know About Living on Campus

It’s only a 5 minutes walk from the residence buildings to your classes.

If you stay in the Paterson suite-style residence (or off-campus), you do not have to get a Meal plan.

Yes! Just buy a parking pass for the semester or year on the HotSpot App or website and fill in your car info.

Yes! Residence can even provide an extra mattress for them. Whether it’s another B.U. student, or a friend from out of town, you are welcome to have them over. Just let the staff or your Residence Assistant know for how long.

We suggest it since it enhances your university experience, but of course you are free to find your own accommodations off campus. We’ll even provide some helpful resources of off campus housing!

We have you covered! There’s a Health Clinic on campus if you need to see a doctor or nurse, a Sports Medicine Clinic for injuries, massage, physiotherapy, etc., and a Mental Health Services Clinic as well that even takes walk-in appointments.

Yes! Our residence buildings have bike racks and storage inside where you can keep a bicycle, snowboards, skis or other equipment.

We have a bus stop right here on campus and you can buy your bus pass at our very own bookstore (The Doolittle’s Co-op) and refill trips on it there too.

No, but starting your second year onwards you can, or you can join the Residence Committee. Find out more on the Residence Life Program web page.
