For some courses, professors will place material on “Reserve” at the Library Services desk. These materials will have a short loan-period. Here’s how to find material placed on reserve by your professor:

  • Start at the Library’s homepage.
  • Under the heading “Research,” click the link Course Reserves.
  • Here are three ways to search course reserves:
    • In the search box, enter your course code (with a space): e.g., ENG 298
    • In the search box, enter your professor’s last name: e.g., Woodward
    • Browse by clicking the down arrow on the “Course Name” button, and then selecting from the options.
  • After looking through the results, and finding the right course and professor, click on the name of the course.
  • Scroll through the list of material, click on the title of an item to get the call number and to check its status.
  • Write down the call number of each item that you wish to borrow.
  • To borrow a reserve item, you will need to ask at the Library Services Desk, and give the staff the item’s call number along with your ID card.
