Biography
Before coming to Bishop’s, Geneviève Gagné served as Interim Secretary General at École nationale de l’administration publique in Quebec City. Prior to this, she held various management roles at Université du Québec à Montréal, mainly within the Faculté de science politique et de droit and the office of the Vice-recteur à la vie académique.
As Bishop’s Secretary General, her duties include supporting and coordinating services required to assist the work of the governing bodies of Bishop’s University, ensuring the University is in compliance with government policies and legislation, implementing and interpreting regulations and policies adopted by the Board of Governors and Senate, providing institutional leadership for Integrated Risk Management, coordinating access to legal and procurement services, and overseeing the strategic orientation and development of Information Technology Services.
She also works jointly with the Principal and Vice-Chancellor in overseeing the University’s strategic planning and government relation activities.
Geneviève holds a law degree from Université de Montréal and an M.B.A. from Université du Québec à Montréal. She is also a member of l’Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés.
