FullDome 3D Projection – Virtual Visit of the Cerro Gordo Mine at Bishop’s University

Professor Bruno Courtemanche from the Department of Environment, Agriculture and Geography at Bishop’s University, in collaboration with Patrick Pomerleau from Nest Dome Immersion, will showcase the exploration of California’s Cerro Gordo mine through a FullDome 3D Projection on Thursday, September 12th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Centennial Theatre for the general public. A media visit is scheduled at 10 a.m.

In July 2024, Professor Courtemanche and his team from Bishop’s University—Dr. Elisabeth Levac, students Henry Mitchell and Rhodric Mendoza—travelled to Death Valley in California in response to an invitation from Brent Underwood, an entrepreneur and owner of the Cerro Gordo mines, to 3D-map the historic silver and nickel Union Mine.
