The Ceremony opens with a welcoming address and the academic procession of the faculty members. The procession is musically accompanied by the Eastern Townships Association’s bag pipers, honouring Bishop’s traditions and roots.

The procession is followed by the welcoming address by the Associate Director of Indigenous Initiatives.

The Honorary Degrees are conferred, followed by the Honorees’ Convocation addresses.

The Vice-Principal (Academic Affairs) presents the undergraduate degrees that will be awarded. He presents all graduands to the Chancellor who confers the degrees on behalf of the university. Each graduand is introduced by their Faculty Dean and is hooded by the Vice-Principal of Student Affairs or by the Registrar. Indigenous students are hooded by the Associate Director of Indigenous Initiatives.

The graduands cross the stage and are congratulated by the Chancellor, and then by the Principal.

The Special Awards are presented, followed by the recipients’ addresses. The Valedictorians make their addresses.

The Ceremony closes with remarks by the Principal.
