Update Your Contact Information Giveaway
1. Contest Sponsor and Administrator
The Update Your Contact Information Giveaway (the “Contest”) is sponsored and administered by the Alumni Relations & Philanthropy Office of Bishop’s University (the “Administrator”).
The prize has been generously provided by TD Insurance. TD Insurance is not responsible for the administration of the Contest, the collection of personal information, the winner selection process, or any aspect of Contest administration.
2. Contest Period
The Contest begins at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) on September 1, 2026, and ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on October 1, 2026 (the “Contest Period”).
Entries received after the Contest Period will not be eligible.
3. Eligibility
The Contest is open to current Bishop’s University students, faculty members, staff members, and alumni who are legal residents of Canada and who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence at the time of entry.
Employees of the Bishop’s University Alumni Relations & Philanthropy Office, as well as their immediate family members and any persons residing in the same household, are not eligible to participate in the Contest.
The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations and is void where prohibited by law.
4. How to Enter
No purchase is necessary to enter or win.
To enter the Contest, eligible participants must update their contact information through the Bishop’s University Alumni Relations & Philanthropy Office online update form available at:
https://www.ubishops.ca/update
Participants will receive one (1) entry upon submitting their updated contact information during the Contest Period.
Limit of one (1) entry per person. Multiple entries will not increase the chances of winning.
Incomplete, late, or otherwise non-compliant entries may be disqualified at the sole discretion of the Administrator.
5. Prize
One (1) prize is available to be won, consisting of:
- Two (2) tickets to a Montreal Canadiens home game during the month of November 2026.
Approximate Retail Value (ARV): $500 CAD
The specific game date, seat locations, and any applicable restrictions will be determined by TD Insurance in its sole discretion and communicated to the winner following prize confirmation.
The prize must be accepted as awarded and may not be substituted, transferred, assigned, or redeemed for cash except at the sole discretion of the Administrator.
Any expenses not specifically included in the prize description, including transportation, parking, accommodations, meals, and other incidental expenses, are the sole responsibility of the winner.
6. Winner Selection
One (1) potential winner will be selected by random draw from all eligible entries received during the Contest Period.
The draw will be conducted on or about October 2, 2026.
The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.
7. Winner Notification and Skill-Testing Question
The selected entrant will be contacted using the contact information on file with Bishop’s University.
To be declared the official winner, the selected entrant must:
- Be successfully contacted by the Administrator;
- Correctly answer, without assistance, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question; and
- Comply with all Contest requirements.
If the selected entrant cannot be contacted within five (5) business days of the first contact attempt, fails to correctly answer the skill-testing question, fails to comply with these Rules, or is otherwise found to be ineligible, the entrant may be disqualified and an alternate entrant may be selected.
8. Privacy and Communications Consent
Personal information collected in connection with the Contest will be collected, used, and retained by the Bishop’s University Alumni Relations & Philanthropy Office for the purposes of:
- Administering the Contest;
- Contacting entrants and the selected winner;
- Verifying eligibility;
- Maintaining and updating participant records; and
- Supporting Bishop’s University’s alumni engagement, advancement, and related activities.
Personal information collected through this Contest will remain under the custody and control of Bishop’s University and will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy legislation and Bishop’s University privacy policies and practices.
Bishop’s University may disclose personal information to trusted third-party service providers and partners acting on its behalf and subject to contractual obligations to safeguard such information, as permitted by applicable law and for purposes consistent with those described in these Official Contest Rules.
Participation in the Contest is not conditional upon consenting to receive email communications from Bishop’s University. Any consent to receive email communications must be provided separately and voluntarily through an optional opt-in mechanism.
For participants who are already subscribed to receive communications from Bishop’s University, participation in this Contest will not alter their existing communication preferences unless they specifically request a change.
For participants who are not currently subscribed, participation in the Contest will not result in their being added to Bishop’s University communication lists unless they expressly provide consent through the optional opt-in mechanism.
9. Release and Limitation of Liability
By entering the Contest, participants release and hold harmless Bishop’s University, the Alumni Relations & Philanthropy Office, TD Insurance, and their respective affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and representatives from any liability arising from participation in the Contest or from the acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of the prize, except where prohibited by law.
10. General Conditions
The Administrator reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to verify eligibility and to disqualify any entrant who:
- Provides false or misleading information;
- Tampers with the entry process;
- Violates these Rules; or
- Acts in a manner that is disruptive or contrary to the spirit of the Contest.
The Administrator reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Contest should circumstances beyond its reasonable control interfere with the proper administration of the Contest.
Any attempt to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may constitute a violation of civil or criminal laws, and the Administrator reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.
11. Governing Law
The Contest shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
12. Acceptance of Rules
By participating in the Contest, entrants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Official Contest Rules and Regulations.
