Since joining the RSEQ conference in 2021, the Bishop’s Gaiters Women’s Hockey program has quickly emerged as one of the top teams in Canadian university sport. The program has produced exceptional individual talent as well, including Gabrielle Santerre, who became the first student-athlete in a U SPORTS team sport to be named both Rookie of the Year and Most Outstanding Player in the same season (2023-24). In March 2025, the Gaiters made history by capturing their first-ever U SPORTS Women’s Hockey National Championship, defeating the host Waterloo Warriors 3-0 in the program’s first national tournament appearance. The team continues to earn national and international recognition, including hosting the Italian National Women’s Hockey Team for an exhibition game. This success reflects the dedication of our student-athletes, coaches, alumni, and supporters. Your contribution helps provide the training, equipment, travel opportunities, and resources needed for our athletes to compete at the highest level while excelling in the classroom.
