Returning to the Swamp
Homecoming brings Gaiters from every generation back to the place that shaped them. Alumni reconnect with friends, meet current students, and feel that familiar B.U. energy the moment they step onto campus. Conversations pick up right where they left off and new connections form just as easily.
As campus fills with purple, the atmosphere blends nostalgia with excitement. Alumni and students can enjoy a full weekend of events, including our annual Jeff Cannon Golf Tournament and Pancake Breakfast. Whether returning after one year or fifty, Gaiters are surrounded by the same warmth, pride, and sense of belonging that make Homecoming one of B.U.’s most anticipated traditions.
Sports, Tailgates & Purple Pride
Homecoming weekend pulses with energy as varsity teams take the spotlight and fans pack the sidelines in signature purple. Students, families, and alumni gather across campus to cheer on the Gaiters, creating an atmosphere that’s loud and proud. The excitement builds from the first whistle to the final score, turning every game into a celebration of school spirit.
Tailgate fires up early, filling the air with music, food, and the kind of camaraderie that makes B.U.’s Homecoming feel different from anywhere else. From special reunions to other alumni‑focused gatherings organized by the Alumni Relations & Philanthropy Office, the schedule is packed with chances to connect, celebrate, and experience the traditions that keep people coming back year after year.
