The Bishop’s Gaiters Men’s Basketball program has a proud tradition of excellence dating back to 1903, when the team became Bishop’s first-ever basketball champions. Today, the Gaiters continue to build on that legacy as one of Canada’s top university basketball programs. In 2026, the team captured a historic silver medal at the U SPORTS Men’s Final 8 National Championship in Calgary. That success also led to the program being selected to represent Canada at the FISU America 3×3 Basketball Championship in Honduras, marking the team’s first international 3×3 competition. The program’s continued rise under current head coach Matt McLean was further recognized when he was named the U SPORTS Coach of the Year in 2025-26. Your support helps provide student-athletes with access to training, competition opportunities, travel, and academic resources that contribute to their success on and off the court.
