How to Access Tax Slips

Current Students

Income tax forms are posted each year in late February via the Registrar’s Office myBU page, under Student Finances.

The University does not send tax slips by email.

Accessing Tax Slips from Past Years (Current or Former Students)

If you no longer have access to myBU, or require tax slips from previous years, please contact Accounts Receivable at acctrec@ubishops.ca to request copies.

A $6.16 processing fee applies to requests processed through Accounts Receivable.

Information About Bishop’s Tax Slips

• Slips are issued once annually for the applicable tax year.
• Forms reflect eligible tuition or scholarship, award, bursary, or prize amounts only, as defined by Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regulations.
• The issuance of these forms does not guarantee eligibility for tax credits or exemptions.
• For more information on tax credits and eligibility, visit the CRA’s Student Tax Information page or consult a tax advisor.

Types of Forms Issued

T2202 – Tuition and Enrolment Certificate

Issued to all students who have provided a valid Canadian Social Insurance Number (SIN). This certificate includes:

• All tuition and fees billed to the student during the previous year.
• The number of months the student was enrolled in a qualifying educational program.

RL-8 – Relevé 8

Issued to all students who have provided their Canadian SIN, regardless of their province of residence.

T4A

Issued to all students who receive a scholarship, award, bursary, or prize from Bishop’s University.

RL-1 – Relevé 1

Issued to all students who receive a scholarship, award, bursary, or prize from Bishop’s University.

RL-31 – Relevé 31

Issued to students who had an active Bishop’s University residence lease on December 31 of the tax year. RL‑31 slips are issued regardless of whether a Canadian SIN was submitted.

Students who moved out of residence before December 31 are not issued an RL‑31, including students whose lease ended earlier in the year (e.g., after the Winter semester).
