What is a case competition?

You will be part of a team of 2 to 5 students that “crack” the case as a team, producing a slide deck and pitching your story as if you were paid consultants asked to solve a problem.

You will be coached by a faculty member from your area of study who will work hard to improve your analytical skills, your presentation style and your effectiveness as a team.

Your involvement

To ensure that you make the most of this opportunity, here are some tips on what you can expect:

  • to dedicate about 50 to 75 hours over a period of 4-5 months outside of your regular schoolwork to become competition ready. That represents about 2 to 3.5 hours per week.
  • to be amazed by your personal development and the team bonding you will experience with your teammates.
  • most competitions are free of charge.
  • it is strongly recommended that you take the case competition class (BMG 330) and that your team participate in the preparation workshops.

For more information, please contact casecompetitions@ubishops.ca.
