Why Study French as a Second Language at Bishop’s?

The French as a Second Language program, offered by the Department d’Études françaises et québécoises, focuses on developing and enhancing French language skills for students at all levels. The program is structured across five levels, each including grammar, writing, and oral comprehension courses. It prepares students for bilingualism, teaching, or careers where strong French proficiency is an asset. Taught by a diverse faculty from various Francophone regions, the program also offers an indepth exploration of francophone cultures and literature, from Québec to Sénégal.
