Sports and recreation facilities

Bishop’s University’s sports and recreation facilities are sure to please athletes of all tastes and levels of play. Whether you like high-impact or low-impact sports, or you’d rather join the Gaiter Nation in the stands than put your skills to the test on the field, you’ll surely find a place at BU to entice the athlete or fan in you.

John H. Price Sports & Recreation Centre

The John H. Price Sports & Recreation Centre has recently undergone a $32M renovation and expansion. This represents the largest investment in the history of the University, and is a major turning point for the sports and recreation services available to the University community and residents of the surrounding areas.

Facilities Schedule

The newly renovated John H. Price Sports & Recreation Centre includes:

  • The Jane and Eric Molson ice hockey arena (800 seats)
  • A double gymnasium with mezzanine
  • A 4000-foot fitness centre
  • An indoor pool
  • An indoor jogging track
  • 2 weight rooms
  • Squash courts
  • A dance studio
  • A sports medicine clinic

In addition to these facilities, the new sports and recreation centre features a food court, an outdoor terrace overlooking Coulter Field, new locker rooms, additional storage space, and health and wellness clinics, as well as administrative offices and classrooms.

Outdoor facilities

Bishop’s University also boasts impressive outdoor sports facilities, which include:

  • Coulter Field, a multi-purpose stadium
  • The Old Lennoxville Golf Club (the oldest nine-hole course in Canada)
  • An outdoor swimming pool
  • Three multipurpose practice fields
