This is a sample of the online EWP Exam instructions and topics. The actual topics on the Exam will be different.

Instructions

  • You have two hours to plan, write, and proofread an essay on one of the topics below.
  • You will type your essay directly on the Moodle page.
  • The EWP Exam is not an intelligence or general knowledge test. It is a writing proficiency test judged on structure (organization & development) and style (standard and appropriate English).
  • You may agree, disagree or examine different sides of the topic using logical and well-organized development.
  • Use specific examples to support and illustrate your points.
  • You may include personal observations.
  • You will need to write about 500 words to develop your thesis adequately.
  • DO NOT STRAY FROM THE MOODLE PAGE; PROCTORING SOFTWARE WILL FLAG THE EWP COORDINATOR IF YOU DO SO, AND YOU WILL AUTOMATICALLY RECEIVE A ZERO ON THE EXAM.
