Semester Goal-Setting Workshop – Tuesday, September 21st, 2021 between 12:00-1:30 Students will use meta cognitive techniques and questionnaires (EF questionnaire) to identify goals and create SMART goals for the semester. We will also identify obstacles and safeguards to help plan around them. Get the Most Out of Office 365 – Tuesday, September 28th, 2021 between 12:00-1:30 We will workshop and explore the different features of Office 365 and how these features can be used to their maximum capacity to support Executive Functioning including memory, planning and organization. Study Methods – Tuesday, October 5th, 2021 12:00-1:30 We will explore together different study styles and supporting tools and strategies and work to identify the best study method for each student. Memory Workshop – Tuesday, October 12th, 2021 from 12:00-1:30 Students will work together to identify ways to help remember content from their courses using mnemonics, acronyms, visual imagery and chunking techniques. All Things Mind Mapping – Tuesday, October 19th, 2021 from 12:00-1:30 Together we’ll investigate how mind maps can be used to help us make decisions, organize thoughts and even study. Self Regulation – Monday, October 25th, 2021 (Time to be determined) Students will use meta-cognitive techniques and review questionnaires to pinpoint areas of weakness in self-regulation and strategies to help improve these areas such as mindfulness techniques, self-monitoring and cognitive appraisal. Post-Midterm Reflection – Tuesday, October 26th, 2021 (Time to be determined) Using meta-cognitive wrappers, we will exam what midterm strategies worked, what didn’t work and what to do differently for finals. Executive Function Games Night (or Afternoon) – Wednesday, October 27th, 2021 (Time to be determined) A chance for students to have fun with board games that promote Executive Functioning skills such as planning, strategy, memory and expressive language. Let’s Get Writing – Thursday, October 28th, 2021 (Time to be determined) Using outlines, mind maps and other resources, we will work with students to help them with work on their academic writing assignments. Effective Communication – Friday, October 29th, 2021 (Time to be determined) Students will workshop ways to communicate with professors, staff and others in an effective manner. Greatest Hits – Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021 from 12:00-1:30 An opportunity for students to review and meet and review strategies or problem-solve around current barriers or challenges as finals approach. Final Exam Prep Workshop – Tuesday, November 9th, 2021 from 12:00-1:30 We will work together to build a study plan for upcoming final exams.
