Planned power outage Feb. 27 – Academic activities maintained

Bishop’s has been notified by Hydro-Québec of a planned power outage related to highway 410 construction work on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, between noon and 4 p.m. This planned power outage unfortunately cannot be rescheduled. Should unforeseen circumstances prevent Hydro-Québec from performing the required work on February 27, the planned postponement date is the next day, February 28, 2019.

Academic activities will be maintained as most areas on campus are naturally lit. Emergency lighting will be available, but some facilities – including, but not limited to, washrooms and elevators – may pose challenges. Faculty can use discretion to proceed with regularly-scheduled classes and will be expected to notify students of modifications to regularly-scheduled classes.

Hydro-Québec is confident power will be restored before the end of daylight; however, the situation will be monitored and reassessed as needed, should the outage be expected to persist beyond daylight. Please monitor further information through SAFEGaiter, the University’s twitter and facebook accounts as well as the website to be informed of further developments.
