Accommodate

Accommodate is a software program that features student and faculty portals. This program is intended to ease and streamline the accommodation management process for faculty and students. 

Available to: 

Faculty, students, and staff from Accommodations.

Antidote

Antidote is software that corrects, guides and assists you with French and English writing. It has a dictionary feature that is bound to increase your vocabulary, guide to help your understanding of formal writing and more. Bishop’s University offers both English and French modules on various computers on campus. 

Available To: 

Employees and students. 

How do I get it:  

Antidote is installed on select computers in certain computer labs. Look for the Antidote label located at the bottom part of the monitor. 

Staff wishing to have Antidote on their BU-provided computer can make an Octopus request through their manager for a license to be purchased by their department. 

Faculty members can utilize their PDF to make a similar purchase through ITS.

Arc GIS

ArcGIS is geographical mapping and analysis tool where you can find location data, maps, analyze the maps, collaborate with others and more. To find out more about ArcGIS visit this site.

B&G Work Orders

The B&G work orders website offers a convenient online form to submit work orders to Buildings & Grounds. For more information, please visit the Buildings & Grounds myBU page here:

Clinicmaster

Clinicmaster is an all-in-one health practice management software.  Clinicmaster is used by the clinic for athletes at the Sports Center.

Employees of the sports medicine clinic.

Eventworks is event management software used by Accommodation and Event Services.

Explorance Blue

Blue is a Moodle plug-in that allows for student course evaluation. 

Available to: 

Students to fill in course evaluations, and employees to access the information relevant to their role.

Fusion is recreation management software used by the Sports Center.

Gaiter dollars

Gaiter Dollars is a way on campus for students to load money onto their student card. They can use Gaiter Dollars for laundry, printing, or food venues at either Dewies, the Gaiter Grill, Quiznos, the Bus Stop or Tim Horton’s on campus.

Microsoft Dynamics GP is a complete solution for managing and integrating finances, e-commerce, supply chain, manufacturing, project accounting, field service, customer relationships and human resources.

Honeywell is the access control system for the card-swipe doors around campus.

Honeywell Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI) is a highly configurable integrated building management system providing an efficient and reliable way of ensuring the security, safety and comfort of people and the effective operation of buildings and facilities. EBI is a flexible suite of applications providing scalable solutions for Building Automation, Energy Management, Security, Fire-Life Safety, Asset Location, and Digital Video from a single front-end user interface with common schedule, alarm, event, trending, and database management.

Infosilem

Infosilem is a scheduling software used at many Canadian post-secondary institutions and across the United States.  It is used for the scheduling of classes and classrooms at Bishop’s University.

ITC

ITC is used by Accommodation and Event Services for point-of-sale transactions (food services, Gaiter Dollars, printing, laundry).

Library Databases

The library offers a large selection of databases containing a wealth of information. 

While ITS does not host the library databases themselves, access to the databases is validated using a service provided by ITS. ITS supports this authentication service only.

Lime Survey

Lime Survey is an advanced online survey system. It is mostly used for research projects requiring advanced features. For simple surveys, employees can use Microsoft Forms. 

Available to: 

Employees and students.

Employees and students who wish to setup surveys in Lime Survey should open a ticket in Octopus to have an account created.

Maple

The Maple Software helps students solve math problems quickly, easily and accurately. Whether you are in calculus or financial modeling Maple is bound to assist you with insight and solutions to your mathematical equations. The maple software also allows you to create interactive applications and develop complex solution using a programming language designed for math. To learn more follow the link below:

Microsoft Power BI

Power BI is a business analytics service by Microsoft. It aims to provide interactive visualizations and business intelligence capabilities with an interface simple enough for end users to create their own reports and dashboards. It is part of the Microsoft Power Platform.

Faculty and students. 

How do I get it:  

Power BI is installed in one computer lab on campus.  Students requiring Power BI for their courses will be informed of how to access the software by their faculty members.

myBU

myBU is the Bishop’s University intranet website that offers access to information about a large number of the university’s services and departments.  

ITS will setup pages on myBU for any department or committee wishing to host content on a page of their own and provide training to designated staff members to maintain those pages. 

Available to: 

Employees and students. 

How do I get it:  

Just go to myBU on the web! https://mybu.ubishops.ca/ 

Support: 

ITS supports employees and students to connect to myBU using desktop and laptop computers. 

Not all browsers are guaranteed to work with myBU.  ITS will always assist to the extent that is reasonable, but clients may have to use a non-preferred browser to connect to the site. Some mobile devices may not be compatible with myBU. 

ITS does not maintain the myBU pages of departments or committees.  Each department or committee having a myBU page is responsible for making all required changes to their own pages.

Porter’s Office Database

This application is used by the Porter’s Office to track parcels and other mail as it is received on campus.

PowerCampus

PowerCampus is the Bishop’s University Student Information System (SIS). PowerCampus enables colleges and universities to automate all of their most critical, student-related tasks, particularly with regard to admissions, billing and cash receipts, financial aid, and academic records.

Employees of the Registrar’s Office and other specific departments on campus.

PowerCampus Self Service

PowerCampus Self Service is a web-based student information system portal. Students are able to register for classes, view their student account (tuition, fees, and summarized financial aid), access their current schedule, and obtain unofficial transcripts. 

Not all browsers are guaranteed to work with the PowerCampus Self Service site. Clients may have to use a non-preferred browser to connect to the site. Mobile devices may not be compatible with the Self Service site.

Support: 

ITS supports faculty, select staff and students to connect to PowerCampus Self Service. ITS will support technical issues with PowerCampus Self Service. 

Usage of PowerCampus Self Service is provided by the Registrar’s Office.

Print shop requests

The print shop requests website offers a convenient online form to submit print requests to the print shop. For more information, please visit the Print Shop myBU page here:

Raiser’s Edge

Raiser’s Edge is a fundraising information system used by the Alumni Relations and Development Office. The Bishop’s University Advancement office uses Raiser’s Edge to maintain ties with Bishop’s graduates, friends and parents.

Rooming IT

Rooming IT is an online room booking system used to book various meeting rooms around campus.

SafeGAITER

SafeGAITER is a mobile application that allows employees and students to instantly receive emergency-related messages, have access to emergency guidelines, a campus map, lists of resources, safety tips & tools, easy access to contact campus security and more. The application itself is developed by AppArmor Mobile.

Everyone.

Salto

Salto is an access control software used by the Security department.

SimpleK is a complete, flexible and intuitive software for master key system and facility management. Mainly used by institutional locksmiths, security and facility managers, SimpleK offers efficient solutions for master key system design and management, key, key ring and item issuance, cylinders and core pinning, personal records and inventories and buildings, doors and floor plans.

Tableau is business intelligence software. Tableau products query relational databases, online analytical processing cubes, cloud databases, and spreadsheets to generate graph-type data visualizations. The software can also extract, store, and retrieve data from an in-memory data engine.
