I moved to Quebec from New Zealand about seven years ago, and returning to education was the best option for my future. Having an English language university right on my doorstep made the decision to attend Bishop’s really easy for me. What I didn’t know though was how amazing this place is, how supportive everyone is, and the endless possibilities available.

When I think about everything I’ve been part of while at Bishop’s my head starts to hurt – in a good way. I’ve had the opportunity to represent Bishop’s internationally in Rotterdam (Netherlands), and Seattle (USA), and nationally in Guelph, Toronto and Charlottetown, while part of various finance and business case competition teams. I also had the great opportunity to attend a summer program at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom as part of Bishop’s BEST Project Fund. While at Cambridge, I learned about strategy and multinational leadership, which helped strengthen my knowledge in intercultural fluency and critical thinking skills that will enhance my problem solving capabilities when undertaking “big picture” thinking. The ability to use classroom knowledge in a real world setting enables students to be prepared for the future and Bishop’s has definitely delivered in that regard.

After representing Bishop’s at various case competitions, I have realized that I can share my knowledge with others and have started coaching other students. Being able to give back and watch others succeed has been extremely rewarding and I am excited about the opportunity to continue to be involved once I graduate. Once a Gaiter, always a Gaiter!
