Holly Benison

Holly Benison is a second-year History Major and Music Minor student from Toronto. She will attend a week-long historical immersion workshop in Columbia, Tennessee, set in 1861 during the American Civil War, with a focus on the historical preservation of intangible history and heritage.

Cassandre Dion-Larivière

Cassandre Dion-Larivière is a third-year student from Saint-Apollinaire, Quebec, pursuing an Honours degree in Applied Psychology with a minor in Criminology. She will attend a week-long program about crime, law and psychology in Prague, Czech Republic. The program is made up of workshops on various topics given by professionals for a group of 30 students from around the world.

Carla Talmaciu

Carla Talmaciu is a second-year student in Applied Psychology from Chambly, Quebec. She will be interning for four weeks with a clinical psychologist at the psychiatric hospital in Zébé, Togo, and will also spend an additional month volunteering at a mobile mental health clinic.

Maxim Jacques

Maxim Jacques is a third-year student in Business Administration with a concentration in Global Management and Leadership. He will attend the GREEN Program, a 10-day program in Water Resource Management and Sustainable Practices at Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola in Peru. It combines in-class lectures, field activities and the development of an entrepreneurial solution to eradicate poverty, inequality and climate change.

Alana Devenny

Alana Devenny, from Ottawa, is double majoring in French and Secondary Education with a minor in Teaching English as a Second Language. Alana’s project is a four-week internship in Youth Development and Education in Cape Town, South Africa. Teaching various subjects in a secondary school setting will support her development as an educator, and assist her in becoming a second language teacher.

Sally Cunningham

Sally Cunningham is a second-year student from Vancouver pursuing an Honours degree in English Literature with a minor in Film. She will attend a week-long intensive screenwriting program at the Vancouver Film School where she will learn about the entertainment industry in Vancouver. During the program, she will write a short screenplay which she will produce this coming year at Bishop’s.

Thomas Dufresne

Thomas Dufresne, from St-Jacques-Le-Mineur, Quebec, studies Biology with a concentration in biodiversity and ecology. This summer, he volunteered at a rehabilitation centre for animals in Iquitos, Peru, assisting a veterinarian and participating in wildlife rehabilitation as well as supporting local staff in animal rescue missions.

Clara Lloyd

Clara is a third-year student in Biology from Beaconsfield, Quebec. This summer she completed an internship at McGill University doing research on the genetic etiology of Congenital Mirror Movement disorder. She worked under Dr. Myriam Srour, a pediatric neurologist and clinician scientist at the Montreal Children’s Hospital.

Hannah Osborne-O’Donnell

Hannah Osborne-O’Donnell is a fourth-year student in History and Global Studies from Bedford, Quebec. As part of an initiative organized by the Classics Department, she attended the Lechaion Harbour and Settlement Land Project Field School, a large-scale excavation being conducted in the Greek city of Ancient Corinth. This summer, the project’s focus was on conserving and cataloguing previous discoveries in preparation for academic publication.

Loch Baillie

Loch Baillie from Worcester, Massachusetts, studies Honours English Literature with a French minor. He travelled to Editors Canada’s 40th annual editing conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia. During the three-day conference, he attended various panels, workshops and lectures that directly bear upon his career goal to work as an editor.

Canda-Leigh Habonimana

Canda-Leigh Habonimana is from Regina, Saskatchewan, and studies Arts Administration with a concentration in Theatre and Business Administration. Canda-Leigh will intern at the Kunstenfestivaldesarts in Brussels to gain a deeper understanding of the administration work of this internationally known contemporary arts festival.

Karrie Parent

Karrie Parent, from Bury, Quebec, is a student of Neuroscience and Biochemistry. She attended a five-day intensive workshop on apitherapy in Romania. Her project involved investigating and reporting on the empirical support for the therapeutic properties of bee products.

Johnny Mills

Johnny Mills, from Granton, Ontario, is a student of International Political Economy. He attended the Canadian Association for Food Studies conference in Vancouver. This conference brings together academics from many disciplines to engage in a critical examination and discussion on the general theme of food systems.

Jonas Viles

Jonas Viles is a Political Studies student from St. Johnsbury, Vermont. He will participate in a three-week European study tour and a two- to three-month research internship at the European Union Trade Institute.
