You are considering promoting your graduate program or company and its work opportunities to Bishop’s students? To help you plan and promote your event and ensure its success, you will find below, information that describes our student population, the programs we offer, as well as the services we can provide you.

This is a paying service that we provide to companies and other universities. The fee we charge partly covers the time required to set up a visit (book a conference room, IT equipment, send publicity to the targeted students, etc.).

The staff at the Career Development and Academic Support Office will assist you to identify the best ways to promote your event to students, as well as the best time to hold it (according to upcoming events and availability of students). However, we can’t guarantee that all these efforts will positively influence the participation of students.

Service fee non-profit: 75$ per visit

Service fee other: 100$ per visit

Please send a cheque at least two weeks prior to the event, to the attention of Nathaniele Pelletier. The cheque should be payable to: Career and Leadership Development Office, Bishop’s University.

Many of Bishop’s students speak two or more languages. They come from all over Quebec, Canada, and the world; therefore, their experience at Bishop’s has helped them gain greater maturity and flexibility to adapt to new situations. Services We Provide

  • Identify with you the best time to hold your event (according to the university calendar, and other events that may already be scheduled).
  • Help you to identify the students that you want to reach out to and the different ways we can promote your event to them (posters in specific buildings, student associations, professors, etc.).
  • Book conference rooms, as well as computer and multimedia equipment you may need.
  • Put up your promotional documents in strategic areas around campus, according to the targeted student population identified.
  • Advertise your event to student associations and professors and ask them to promote the event to their members and students.
  • Promote your event in the Daily Dish (by the weekly electronic bulletin of upcoming events sent to all students).
  • Welcome you and provide assistance during your event.

Due to the number of projects and services provided by the Career Development and Academic Support Office, we DO NOT offer the following services:

  • We do not book catering services. Should you want to provide refreshments or a small snack to students attending the event, you will need to contact our catering services at the following email catering@ubishops.ca or phone number 819-822-9600 ext. 2340 and make arrangements with them.
  • We do not register students for your event or collect résumés. However, should you want to interview our students, we can reserve rooms for you to do interviews. It will be your responsibility to call the students and inform them of the interview process.

Information Needed

To promote your event, we will need at least 10 posters that include the following information:

  • Name, logo, as well as the website of your company, organization, or school,
  • Small description of your company, organization, or school and why you are coming to Bishop’s University (recruit for summer positions, promote your graduate program, etc.),
  • Time and place of your event (that we will have determined together),
  • If relevant, the name of the person the students should contact or send their résumé to, and the deadline for applying for a position.

The different billboards around campus are usually packed with information regarding upcoming events. Therefore, we suggest that your posters be at least 11×17 inches and in bright colours. You will need to send these posters at least 3 weeks in advance, so we receive them in plenty of time to post them around campus.

We will also need a short description of the event with the logo of the company (JPG, PNG, or GIF format). We will email this information to all students and professors (or targeted group of students) a week and a day prior to the event. Ideally, we need to receive this information at least two weeks in advance, especially if you would like us to promote your event to different student associations.
