Paterson is the newest building on campus, and home to the Residence and Conference Services office. It is very different from any other residence hall on campus, because it is the only building to offer suite-style accommodation. Each suite has four individual bedrooms, and suitemates share the use of a common area, kitchen, and two bathrooms.
Meet the RA team
My name is Isabelle (many people call me Izzy, you can take your pick) and I’m thrilled to be your Team Coordinator for 2019-20! I’m Albertan-Québécoise and am in my 4th year in Biology: Health Sciences and Neuroscience.
I love to travel. During my gap “two-years,” I travelled to Australia and tried many different things. From there, I flew up to Thailand to volunteer teach, did a stint in Myanmar, and last summer, I volunteered in India in a children’s home. I strongly believe in the importance of doing our part in contributing to the world community, and I’ve chosen to do so by raising funds, volunteering with Rotary International, by cycling through the Maritimes by myself for the Syrian Refugee Crisis, and also by donating blood. You can try donating and even find out your blood type at one of our biannual blood drives.
In my first year, I was on the Women’s Rugby Team, but since I began my second year I have enjoyed committing myself to assuring a high-quality residence life. You will often find me having potlucks in Paterson, on stage with the BU Singers Concert Choir, or on the wall at Vertige in Sherbrooke with Bishop’s Rock Climbing Club! I’m keen on adventures, and I think if you’ve chosen Bishop’s, you’re embarking on a good one. I very much look forward to meeting and getting to know you in the fall. If you want to chat about travel in foreign lands, travelling alone as a woman or man, or if you wouldn’t mind sharing some of your epic adventure stories with me, please swing by! Finally, if you have any questions or would like to introduce yourself, pop me off an email at email@example.com.
P.S. I lived in Mackinnon during my first 2 years and in No-Po in my third and loved the open-door community there, so if you have any questions about those buildings, you are more than welcome to send them to me.
My name is Klara, and I’ll be a 1st year RA in Paterson 2019-2020. I’m entering my fourth year in Biology: Health Sciences and I’m excited to spend my final year getting to know you guys. I’m from around the area (Eastern Townships) and grew up on a farm with my many siblings who are now spread around the world.
My drive in life is adrenaline and if there is one thing that I’d desire most at this age is for more hours in a day. I’ve become a focused person through this, and through that, I drive for success in everything I do. Whether that be in sports like swimming, soccer, extreme hikes, tree planting and whitewater canoe or in traveling, music and academics, I find a passion for it and drive myself to the best I can be. On campus though you’ll most likely find me in the library, in the biology lounge (herbarium) or playing intramural sports at the plex (gym).
Bishop’s is an amazing school, its small campus and the local town make for a strong community feeling. This is something I’ve come to really appreciate about this school. Living in Paterson will allow you to have the experience of being independent but to also experience the community and convenience of living on campus. I look forward to building this community with you in Paterson and getting you guys integrated in everything that bleeds purple. If you have any questions just shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or come by my apartment during the school year.
Hey future Gaiters! My name is Vivienne and I will be your Paterson RA for the 2019-2020 Academic year. I’m double majoring in Psychology and Sociology with a concentration in Criminology. This will be my third year at Bishop’s and first year as an RA. I am from Switzerland, so yes, I am fully stocked with chocolate at all times! Fun fact: I learned how to yodel the day of Halloween since I was going in my traditional Swiss dress (yes, my roommates were about to kill me). That being said, don’t hesitate to ask for a private yodeling session! I love baking, reading and watching TV shows. One day you’ll find me living off the grid in tiny house and a cutie little pet pig making cookies with my piggy whisk!
I lived in Paterson my second year and it has become my favorite Residence on campus! This residence building really makes it possible to be independent but still leave in a close-knit community. The residence building is right next to Dewies (the dining hall) and the sportsplex. Academic buildings are only a few minutes away. Paterson has a nice mix of people from all over the world as well as first- and upper year students. The various fun activities organized by your RAs will make you a part of the Bishop’s community in no time!
I cannot wait to get to meet each and every one of you! Bishop’s is an amazing Uni and it won’t take long for you to realize that yourself!
If you have any questions in the meantime you can reach me at VMAFE17@ubishops.ca. Have an awesome summer, I‘ll see you soon!!!
Meet your RLC
Hi future Gaiters!
My name is Aline Pierrisnard and I am one of the Residence Life Coordinators at Bishop’s for Munster, Paterson, and Mackinnon. I live in an apartment in Mackinnon, but you can also find me in my office in Paterson during the daytime. I am a full-time staff member who is dedicated to ensuring that everyone’s experience in Residence is as safe and fun as can be!
I am a Bishop’s graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Sociology. I am originally from France but I have lived in the Middle East and UK for the majority of my life! I love going on walks and hiking, whether it be to de-stress, relax, or just for fun. Aside from walking, I am a huge fan of the TV shows Greys Anatomy, Criminal Minds (can’t believe its ending!), and NCIS. I am passionate about social justice, deconstructing false historical narratives, and small fluffy animals.
I hope you all have an amazing year here at Bishop’s and refer to it as your home away from home after just a couple weeks here! If you have any queries or concerns, or would just like more information so that your experience during move-in can be as rewarding and stress-free as possible, do not hesitate to contact me at email@example.com or once on campus just swing by my office – located just down the hall from the Paterson front desk!
Don’t forget to bring your purple!
