This New Side building, housing a mix of first and upper-year students, always develops a strong sense of community. It’s a great place to meet other students, make new friends, and get some serious studying done when the occasion warrants. This year will be a great one – Abbotteers tend to be a loyal and happy bunch. What more could you want?

Meet the RA team

Each of the RAs from Abbott has written a bio to welcome students. If you have any questions, please email the RA for your section.

LaurenceHi guys! I’m Laurence, and this year will be my third year on the team. I will be the Team Coordinator (TC) for the Kuehner-Abbott-Paterson (KAP) building team, and you can find my home in Abbott! I am entering my fourth year at Bishop’s as an Elementary Education Major, with a history minor. Although I will call Abbott home, I have also had the opportunity to live and work in both Munster and Kuehner. Living in Abbott provides a great balance for school work and socializing. One of the highpoints of living in Abbott is that you are near the dining hall, the sports plex, while only being a short walk from all of your classes.

Quick facts about me: I have a passion for music and reading, and will always be up for chats about almost anything and nearly everything. I also enjoy baking and cooking; you will often be able to smell cookies and other baking from my apartment. Although I currently call Ottawa home, I’ve had several opportunities to travel the world, growing up and love learning about new cultures!

I have an open door policy, and if my door isn’t open, you will know where to find me by the locator on my door! I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have before you make your move to campus. I am available to chat if you have questions about how to manage the crazy Orientation Week schedule, managing the first few weeks at University or our amazing dining hall. Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions about residence life and being away from home. You can reach me at

I wish you all a great summer and remember, bring purple!

MarionHello Gaiters! My name is Marion and I am more than happy to be back in the team as your future Senior Resident Assistant (SRA) for Abbott! I am an international student from a small city in the South of France, next to the Mediterranean Sea. I’m going into my third year at Bishop’s University, with my major in Applied Psychology.

My hobbies include reading, watching movies and tv shows, listening to music (is there any Green Day fans?), practicing yoga and playing video games. Cooking is also something that I enjoy doing a lot. Let’s not forget that I LOVE cats. Fun fact about me: I don’t like snow and cold temperatures (I’m a real Mediterranean girl).

As your RA, I’ll be there if you have any concerns or questions. I want to offer you an enjoyable residence life and wonderful rez memories. I wish to build a real sense of community by getting to know you all and creating an environment in which you would feel good.

I really can’t wait to meet you all! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me at Enjoy your summer and see you on move in day!

PatrickHey everyone!

My name is Patrick and I’ll be one of your RAs in Abbott for this upcoming school year! I was a Munster boy these last two years but I’m looking forward to moving into a new building, just as I hope you’re all excited to join the wonderful world of the KAP residences.

Born and raised in France, I traded the cold rain of the Parisian suburbs for the colder snow of Sherbrooke, and though I firmly believe the climate will be the death of me, I wouldn’t have it any other way: Bishop’s offers more unique experiences than you can point your soon-to-be-frozen fingers at.

I’ll be entering my third year as a Neuroscience major and Drama minor, so if you ever hear someone walking down the hall singing musicals (badly), that’s probably me. Feel free to drop by anytime if you want to talk about psych, neuro, or acting, I’m always yearnin’ for some learnin’. You can probably find me surfing the interwebs in my room, studying in the basements, or using my (very limited) cooking skills in the communal kitchen. I also enjoy memes and making bad puns, which I hope you’ll grow to like, or more likely tolerate, throughout the year!

Whether you’re a seasoned veteran of the Bishop’s residence halls or it’s your first time living on campus, I’m really excited to meet you all and to make your experience in Rez as memorable as possible. Feel free to email me at if you have any questions or even just want to say hi, and I hope you’re ready for all the fun you’re Abbott to have this year! (See, I told you the puns were bad)

Sarah CaimanoHey Gaiters!

My name is Sarah Caimano and I’m from Montreal. I am bilingual, speaking both English and French. I am going into my second year at Bishop’s, majoring in Neuroscience. This will also be my second year living in Abbott. However, it will be my first year as an RA.

As an RA, I’m here to offer support throughout the semester and make sure that all you new residents transition into university life as smoothly as possible and that all returning students settle back into res life.

My hobbies include going to the gym, making my daily protein shakes, listening to music and hanging out with friends. I also enjoy travelling and exploring new places. However, I’ve only been to the British Isles, the US and Cuba. This spring I’ll be visiting the one happy island Aruba!

Netflix consumes a vast majority of my time so feel free to recommend any good shows or movies!

You’ll all soon realize that living in Abbott is extremely convenient as all your late-night cravings can easily be satisfied with Dewies being so close! We’re also close to the Sports Plex for all you gym lovers.

In addition to the convenient location, Abbott has some great study rooms and common rooms, not to mention a sweet kitchen!

I look forward to meeting you all and getting to know you! If you have any pressing questions or would just like to chat, feel free to email me at

See you soon!

Meet your RLC

Aline Pierrisnard

Aline PierrisnardHi future Gaiters!

My name is Aline Pierrisnard and I am one of your Residence Life Coordinators for Abbott, Kuehner, and Paterson. I live in an apartment in Mackinnon, but you can also find me in my office in Paterson during the day time. I am a full time staff member who is dedicated to ensuring that everyone’s experience in Residence is as safe and fun as can be!

I am a Bishop’s graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Sociology. I am originally from France but I have lived in the Middle East and UK for the majority of my life! I love going on walks and hiking, whether it be to de-stress, relax, or just for fun. Aside from walking, I am a huge fan of the TV shows Greys Anatomy, Criminal Minds, and NCIS. I am passionate about social justice, deconstructing false historical narratives, and small fluffy animals.

I hope you all have an amazing year here at Bishop’s and refer to it as your home away from home after just a couple weeks here! If you have any queries or concerns, or would just like more information so that your experience during move-in can be as rewarding and stress-free as possible, do not hesitate to contact me at or once on campus just swing by my office – located just down the hall from the Paterson front desk!

Don’t forget to bring your purple!
