Transcript Request Policy

A student transcript will be released if:

  • the request is made in writing (no telephone requests are accepted) *
  • the student’s signed authorization is included

* It is possible to use the PDF version of the transcript request form, available below.

OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS, bearing the University seal, are sent directly to other academic institutions, employers, etc. but cannot be released to the student.

UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS (copies without the University seal) may be sent to the student upon written request. Faxed transcripts are unofficial. An electronic version of the transcript is not available.

Student account (fees owing to Bishop’s) and transcript fee must be paid in full before any transcript can be released.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Addresses must be complete. Include the name of the person who is to receive the transcript, and/or the full title of the academic unit or department. Please include the postal code.

Transcripts will be sent to the addresses as given. The University will not complete the address and cannot be responsible for transcripts which fail to arrive due to incorrect addresses or postal service interruptions.

Indicate when the transcripts are to be sent (eg. as soon as possible, after fall term, after winter term, etc.) Results for a given term are generally available about 3 weeks after examinations end. If no preference is indicated, the transcript will be sent immediately, with or without all marks being available. Remember that nothing may be deleted from the transcript.

Indicate name, student number, date of birth, years of attendance and degree conferred if applicable.

Transcript fee: $5.00 for each official or unofficial transcript.

* There is no transcript fee for students currently registered at Bishop’s.

Upon request, transcripts may be sent by Purolator Courier, Xpress Post, Registered Mail or Air Mail. These requests require prior payment of the appropriate charges.

Visa or Mastercard number with Expiry date must accompany letters sent by fax. Cheques are to be made payable to: Bishop’s University
