Being a French-American duel citizen living in the Boulder, Colorado area, my path to becoming a Gaiter has certainly been an unconventional one. I always knew that I wanted to go to a university with a tight knit community and a distinct campus. With Bishop’s being the beating heart of Lennoxville, the second I set foot on campus I knew that BU was the place I’d call home for the next four years.

Looking back at the past few years, I’m amazed at all that Bishop’s has offered me and what I’ve been able to accomplish. During this time I’ve been involved in numerous business case competitions that have taken me around Canada and beyond. I’ve been a Portfolio Manager for WSB’s Student Investment Fund – SEED Portfolio, organized the Beyond the Bubble Networking event, and have coached for Alexander Galt High School’s swim team. Most recently, I’ve just finished my 2nd CO-OP internship and have been elected as President of the Bishop’s University Commerce Society (BUCS).

It has been the close interaction between students, staff and professors that has lead to me trying new things and building my network. My only regret is that I wish I had taken better advantage of how friendly and open all the professors are. Having professors that you can stop by and chat to is so helpful – whether you need help with a topic covered in class, or simply want some advice on your next steps after Bishop’s.

Make sure you come to BU with an open mind and a willingness to try new things. If you need something – ask, and if you want to do something – do it. For at the end of the day, Bishop’s University is the only place that encourages you to “B-U”.
