Bishop’s International provides support and services to incoming degree-seeking and exchange international students, as well as to all Bishop’s students interested in an international and/or intercultural experiential learning opportunity abroad or on campus.

Bishop’s International is the main point of contact with partner institutions around the world and works closely with other administrative services, faculties and schools in developing new international strategic partnerships and campus internationalization.

How to meet us:

Access the International Students’ virtual office:
Every Tuesday and Thursday morning, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.

Access Monika’s Virtual Office:
Every Monday and Wednesday morning, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.

Drop-in hours on campus:

From Monday to Thursday, 1:00 to 2:00 PM in PAT101. Please note that the university will be closed from December 23, 2023 to January 7, 2024. Drop-in hours in the winter 2024 semester will start January 15th.

Lysange Gervais is the Immigration Advisor – International Student Success. As such, she develops and implements a variety of initiatives to support international students in preparation and throughout their transition to life on campus and in Canada. Lysange holds a Bachelor’s of Education degree as well as a Master’s Degree specialized in intercultural education from the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM).

Alison Threatt joined the Bishop’s International team in 2023 and works as an Immigration Advisor for international students. She holds a Master of Arts degree in teaching English as a second language. Outside of her work with international students, she enjoys volunteering at the local elementary school.

Monika Mitchell is the International Student Success & Global Learning Coordinator. Her main focus is the International Mobility Program and supporting outbound and inbound exchange students. A graduate from Bishop’s with a Bachelor of Arts, she has always been involved in the community both within and outside the realm of Bishop’s such as: The EDI Task Force, The Sexual Culture Committee, the Governing Boards of the Lennoxville and District Women’s Center and Champlain Regional College – Lennoxville.

Cynthia is an International Education Assistant with the Bishop’s International team. She has experience working as a Project Manager and Organizational Developer in different organizations, including Mexican universities, where she worked with students and Indigenous communities in sustainable development projects.

Her professional work has taken place in Mexico, England, The Netherlands, and now in Canada, where she wants to continue growing, learning and working within multicultural and ethnic diversity environments.

Amirhossein Zargarnejad serves as one of our International Education Assistants. He is currently pursuing a Master of Computer Science at Bishop’s. In addition to his academic pursuits, Amirhossein is also an accomplished music producer and DJ from Iran. In his role, he is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of special projects and events for Bishop’s International, as well as managing our social media. Mehdi is an International Education Assistant currently working towards a master’s degree in computer science. During his Bachelor’s studies, he played a pivotal role within student scientific associations, showcasing a dynamic and influential presence.

At Bishop’s International, Mehdi is dedicated to enhancing the learning experience by promoting social events and fostering networking among students. Well-versed in Bishop’s resources, he strives to create a friendly, multicultural environment for students from diverse backgrounds, ensuring that they make the most out of their Bishop’s experience. Catalina Villanueva

Originally from Santiago, Chile, Catalina is a fourth-year Biology Health Science student. Her main role at Bishop’s International is to facilitate the Weekly Unwind events. Catalina is also involved elsewhere in the university community, contributing to different mental health awareness initiatives. Most notably, she is a peer supporter at BUnited and a facilitator of the Trauma-Awareness workshops.
