If you are interested in taking part-time courses without formally entering a certificate or degree program at the University, you must apply for part-time general interest student via the Online Application website.

Part-time general interest students may register in a maximum of 11 credits per semester. If a part-time general interest student wishes to join a certificate or degree program at Bishop’s, he/she must make a new formal application to the university in respect of the published application deadlines. If admitted, credits accumulated as a part-time general interest student could apply to the certificate or degree program.

Eligibility

In order to register as a part-time, general-interest student, you must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada and a minimum of 19 years of age by the first day of classes of your intended start semester.

Minimum Document requirement:

Proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status.

How to Submit Documents

All supporting documentation can be uploaded via our online system at the time of application or can be submitted via your myBU Applicant Portal via the “Submit Missing Documents” option. They can also be sent to us via email to admissions@ubishops.ca.

Admission Timeline

Once the evaluation period has begun for an admissions cycle, files are assessed on a rolling basis. What this means is that as soon as all required documents are received, our office will complete an initial evaluation within 10 business days. (Exception: Master’s Programs, Applications for our Music programs, which need to be evaluated based on their audition as well, and competitive admissions programs).
