SASKATOON \u2013 La sensation recrue des Gaiters de Bishop\u2019s, Gabrielle<\/span> Santerre<\/span>, a une fois de plus \u00e9crit l’histoire lorsqu’elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9e Joueuse par Excellence de l\u2019U SPORTS (Troph\u00e9e Brodrick) et Recrue de l’ann\u00e9e U SPORTS lors du gala hockey f\u00e9minin \u00e0 Saskatoon mercredi. C’est la premi\u00e8re fois qu’une joueuse remporte ces deux distinctions au cours de la m\u00eame saison. Cela intervient trois semaines apr\u00e8s qu’elle a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 la premi\u00e8re joueuse de la RSEQ \u00e0 remporter ces deux prix la m\u00eame ann\u00e9e, depuis la cr\u00e9ation du Championnat national U SPORTS en 1997-1998.<\/p>\n

Elle a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9e dans l’\u00e9quipe d’\u00e9toiles de premi\u00e8re \u00e9quipe canadienne et dans l’\u00e9quipe des Recrues de l’ann\u00e9e U SPORTS.<\/p>\n

Santerre<\/span>, originaire de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, au Qu\u00e9bec, a men\u00e9 le pays en marquant 45 points en 25 matchs. C’\u00e9tait sept de plus que la suivante, sa co\u00e9quipi\u00e8re Maude Pepin, qui en avait 37, et neuf de plus que Lilian George de UNB, qui a marqu\u00e9 36 points en 28 matchs.<\/p>\n

Les 45 points repr\u00e9sentent un record moderne pour une recrue de la RSEQ (depuis 2007-2008). C’est le total le plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 marqu\u00e9 dans la conf\u00e9rence depuis 2012-2013 et le plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 dans le pays depuis la saison 2013-2014.<\/p>\n

Elle a \u00e9galement fait partie de la premi\u00e8re \u00e9quipe d’\u00e9toiles et de l’\u00e9quipe des recrues de la RSEQ. De plus, elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9e Athl\u00e8te du mois de la RSEQ en novembre.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Quelle ann\u00e9e de la part de Gab, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Valerie Bois, entra\u00eeneuse-chef de l’\u00e9quipe de hockey f\u00e9minin des Gaiters de Bishop\u2019s. Elle est mature bien au-del\u00e0 de son \u00e2ge. Sa pr\u00e9paration et son attention aux d\u00e9tails sont extraordinaires. Elle comprend et continue de travailler dur pour apprendre le syst\u00e8me. Elle adore parler de hockey. Elle a des normes \u00e9lev\u00e9es mais entra\u00eene tout le monde avec elle. Elle a re\u00e7u de nombreux \u00e9loges cette ann\u00e9e mais a une mentalit\u00e9 ax\u00e9e sur l’\u00e9quipe. Nous sommes extr\u00eamement fiers d’elle.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

\u00c9tudiante en \u00c9tudes sportives, Santerre<\/span> n’en est pas \u00e0 ses premi\u00e8res distinctions – elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9e Joueuse de l’ann\u00e9e de la Division 1 du C\u00e9gep lors de ses deux derni\u00e8res saisons avec Champlain-Lennoxville.<\/p>\n

Elle a contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 mener les Gaiters de Bishop\u2019s \u00e0 leur meilleure saison \u00e0 ce jour en 2023-2024 avec 32 points et une deuxi\u00e8me place dans la RSEQ.<\/p>\n

Santerre<\/span> est \u00e9galement le premier athl\u00e8te des sports d’\u00e9quipe de U SPORTS \u00e0 remporter \u00e0 la fois le titre de joueur de l’ann\u00e9e et celui de recrue de l’ann\u00e9e au cours de la m\u00eame saison.<\/p>\n
