He has acted as a consultant for the Canadian International Development Agency, as a Policy Advisor to the federal government on post-secondary education, and as ‘Leaderin-Residence’ of the Council for Emerging Leaders of the Conference Board of Canada.

The President of Humber Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning (Ontario) for 25 years, he has served as President of the Association of Canadian Community Colleges and of the American-based League for Innovation in the Community College.
