STAR2 Research Cluster special seminar: Fractional Newtonian Gravity for Spherical Sources
January 27 @ 10:00 am
Dr. Ivano Colombaro,
Department of Information & Communication Technologies, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Spain
Fractional Newtonian gravity is a novel approach to Galactic dynamics based on a fractionalization of Poisson’s equation that relies on the so-called Fractional Laplacian. The aim of this model is to provide an alternative theoretical framework to the standard paradigm of Dark Matter phenomenology. In this talk, I will provide a characterization of the gravitational potential of some known spherical galaxy models within this non-local theory of gravity.
