PHYSICS & ASTRONOMY SEMINAR: Classicalization in Quantum Field Theory and Gravity
September 27 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Classicalization is a scheme, alternative to the Wilsonian approach to non-renormalizable theories, which allows a theory to avoid entering the strong-coupling regime by producing high-multiplicity states made of a large number of soft quanta. In turn, at high energies the large number of constituents makes these states behave almost classically. After reviewing some key features of this scenario, I will discuss how this picture turns out to be particularly effective when applied to the gravitational interaction.
