Dr. Sarah-Myriam Martin-Brûlé Takes Part in Public Consultation on Canada’s Defence Strategy

Dr. Sarah-Myriam Martin-Brûlé of the Department of Politics and International Studies has recently presented her research on Canada’s role in peacekeeping operations at a conference entitled “La défense du Canada au 21e siècle”, organized by the Centre interuniversitaire de recherche sur les relations internationals du Canada et du Québec. This event was one of several public consultations launched by the Department of National Defence in preparation for a new Canadian defence policy. The DND is calling upon researchers and key stakeholders to engage in a discussion pertaining to the main challenges to Canada’s security, the role of the Canadian Armed Forces in addressing current threats and challenges, and the resources and capabilities necessary to carry out the CAF mandate. The Hon. Harjit Singh Sajjan, Minister of Defence, was in attendance.

This conference, held at the École nationale d’administration publique on May 7, 2016, was organized in collaboration with the Observatoire canadien sur les crises et l’action humanitaires.
