BISHOP’S UNIVERSITY WELCOMES INTERNATIONALLY RENOWNED SINGER

Jeremy Huw WIlliams photoBishop’s University is excited to welcome Jeremy Huw Williams to Bandeen Hall for the first concert of his North American tour on Friday, September 25. A Welsh baritone, Mr. Williams is coming to Bishop’s from the Welsh National Opera, and will be accompanied on the piano by Paula Fan. Mr. Williams will also be presenting the lecture ”A New Voice: Creativity and Collaboration in Classical Music” on September 25 at 12:30 p.m. in Bandeen Hall.

He made his debut with Welsh National Opera as Guglielmo (Così fan tutte) and has since appeared in sixty operatic roles.  He has given performances at major venues in North and South America, Australia, Hong Kong, and most European countries.

Mr. Williams was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by Glyndwr University in 2009 for services to music in Wales, and received the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Music from the University of Aberdeen in 2011.

Mr. Williams’s North American tour is supported by the William Alwyn Foundation. Special thanks to Bishop’s University Foundation and the Janine Hodder Internship program.
