The two biggest lessons that I feel I learnt from being a part of the SEED portfolio is learning how to understand the relation between causes and linking those causes to their corresponding events, and, secondly, developing skills in regards to arguing for the existence of those correlations. From my experiences I learned to comprehend, analyze and envision a more global picture of industry. Moreover, I feel as though it gave me an understanding of how globalization can bring opportunities and potential risks for a company. With English being my third language, SEED gave me the opportunity to learn the importance of being prepared and thorough while simultaneously offering me a chance to practice my people skills which I had time to develop when making conference calls. Furthermore, I learnt how to bring these points to light because I developed argumentation skills as well as an ability to convey ideas and points brought up during team discussions. In all I must say that I am very glad to have been a part of SEED as the benefits were numerous.

In May 2011, the Experiential learning fund enable Jérôme, a physics student at Bishops, to travel to MIT in Boston where he worked with a doctoral student to familiarize himself with the MESA stellar evolution code. This opportunity enabled him to not only see how numerically-based research is conducted at a major American research institute, but it also allowed him to be part of a team that plans on publishing a paper in an internationally recognized journal.
