Additional government funding for Bishop's confirmed

Priority 7. Ensure financial sustainability.

Objective 7.4 Sustain our investments in government relations in order to advocate effectively for a reduction in the funding gaps between Bishop’s and the other small Quebec universities.

In May 2019, it was announced that the Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur has accorded Bishop’s a recurring annual grant of $1 M to support our role in the Sherbrooke region. The $1M is part of the $15 M annual investment in “regional universities”.

The funding will be earmarked to projects and initiatives that will strengthen Bishop’s strategic role in promoting socioeconomic development in our region.

We are very pleased to receive this additional funding, which we worked with our colleagues at l’Université de Sherbrooke to obtain. L’Université de Sherbrooke will also receive $1M from this fund.
