Welcome to Bishop’s University, a place where you can

Be Bold. Be Purple. Be You.

Bishop’s University is a picturesque, residential liberal arts university located in the rolling hills of Quebec’s Eastern Townships. Since 1843, Bishop’s has been an institution of choice for outstanding young people seeking academic excellence and a comprehensive undergraduate experience.

Students choose Bishop’s because they want to make a difference in the world, and because they know we are ready and willing to help them accomplish this goal. They want to expand the boundaries of their knowledge, learn to think critically, communicate effectively and engage with others to effect change.

At Bishop’s, we are committed to providing our students with the very best learning experiences and opportunities. We push them to expand their horizons. We empower them to deal with complexity, diversity, and change. We give them the tools to act, the confidence to perform and the knowledge to ask the right questions.

Our university is rich in tradition and prestige, with an inspiring mission: to help students reach their potential and prepare them well for the next steps in their lives.

We promise our students that they’ll leave Bishop’s with everything they need – to recognize opportunities, to act confidently, and to live the kind of life they want. And we are proud to say that, each year, our graduating students tell us we delivered on the promises we made to them when they chose us.

For generations, our graduates have gone on to succeed in all walks of life – business, the arts, politics, journalism, education, law, athletics and health sciences, to name just a few. And when our graduates succeed, we are extremely proud. For with each graduate’s success, we know that Bishop’s has been successful too.

If you are new to the Bishop’s community, I offer you my warmest welcome. I hope you will take time to experience us virtually, and explore all that our university has to offer. If you are a recent graduate or a long-time alumnus, then I hope you will keep in touch, return to campus often, and share the story of your own Bishop’s experience with everyone you can. The successes of our alumni, woven together, are the essential elements of our Bishop’s story – and the Bishop’s story is one that begs to be told.
