A community where students thrive: Bishop’s University and Université de Sherbrooke rank first in student satisfaction

Bishop’s tops Maclean’s student satisfaction survey for fourth straight year.

Bishop’s University and the Université de Sherbrooke have been recognized by Maclean’s annual survey as the institutions whose students are most satisfied across the country in their respective categories, a reflection of their efforts to position the region as an attractive and inclusive community for students as well as a highly-educated population.

“This is the fourth consecutive year that we have been ranked number one for student satisfaction. It is a great tribute to our staff, faculty and to our students themselves that we have earned this recognition,” said Michael Goldbloom, C.M., Principal and Vice-Chancellor of Bishop’s University. “Bishop’s is committed to providing an academically rigorous education in a respectful and human-scale environment where students are supported in achieving their full potential.”

Bishop’s University ranks first among all primarily undergraduate Canadian universities in Maclean’s student satisfaction rankings, while Université de Sherbrooke ranks first in the medical and doctoral universities category for student satisfaction.

“I am particularly pleased to see that both Université de Sherbrooke’s and Bishop’s students greatly value the education they are receiving,” Principal Goldbloom added. “One of the characteristics that the two institutions share is that the majority of our students come from outside the region. Although we both believe that our students could succeed anywhere in the world, we share the objective of encouraging as many of our students as possible to pursue their careers here in the Eastern Townships.”
