Generally, the Bishop's/Champlain campus and the Lennoxville area is a safe, friendly place in which to live, work and study. However, as everywhere in our society, safety and crime prevention are ever-present concerns.
Following the suggestions in this pamphlet will help to reduce crime on our campus and contribute to an enjoyable environment in which to pursue your studies.
Campus Security:
- The responsibility of Campus Security is to ensure the safety and security of everyone.
- Campus Security personnel include the following: The Director of Security, the Assistant Director of Security and the Security Officers. Working in conjunction with Security are Student Patrollers, Marshalling personnel, Residence Assistants and Parking Attendants.
- Campus Security maintains a good working relationship with the Service de Police de la Région de Sherbrooke, who are responsible for investigating crimes and criminal activities on campus.
- All buildings, including residences, are checked on a daily basis by Security Officers on foot patrols. The campus exterior is also patrolled on foot and with a Security Vehicle. Any suspicious persons and/or vehicles are checked.
Campus Security is located in the Dewhurst Annex.
Telephone # 2711 for on campus users and 822-9711 when telephoning from off campus or a pay or private telephone.
Security officers are on duty 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. To contact Security anytime day or night, there is an emergency telephone located at:
