Munster Team:

Emilie Bowles

Hello future Munster/Paterson residents! My name is Emilie and I’ll be the Team Coordinator for the Munster/Paterson Resident Assistant team this coming year. I was a Resident Assistant in Mackinnon last year and I’m so excited to be part of the Residence Life team again this coming year. I’m in my third year here at Bishop’s and I’m doing a double major in Secondary Education and Social Studies. After Bishop’s, I plan on doing a Masters in Indigenous Studies, my favourite part of Canadian history, or possibly a Masters in Leadership! I’m originally from Montreal, but I chose to come to Bishop’s because of the small size of the university (we kid you not, here you get to know your professors and your professors get to know you) but also because of the community feel that Bishop’s has. I’ve loved becoming an active presence on campus, so I encourage you to do the same! We’ve got so many wonderful opportunities for you to explore, so go ahead and try something new. And, if we don’t have something you want, it’s easy to get it started. All you have to do is ask. Oh, and by the way, we RAs are here to help you adjust to life at university by offering personal and academic support and throwing awesome events. So feel free to email me (at ebowles10@ubishops.ca) about anything that’s on your mind! I’d love to answer any questions you may have about living in residence, the Education program, or getting involved in the Bishop’s community.

Evan Buck

Hello future residents! My name is Evan Buck, and I’m going to be one of your RAs for Munster/Paterson during the 2012/2013 school year! I’m in my second year here at Bishop’s, studying English literature and sociology, so if you ever want to know what Shakespeare actually meant when he said “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet”, I’m your man! I’m from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, and I am a true Maritimer at heart. I came to Bishop’s because I wanted to have small classes, and I love the sense of community the school offers. I know that everyone says that, but it’s totally true; you’ll come to realize after a few months that Bishop’s really is like a family.  On top of that, there are so many ways to get involved in this school, it’s ridiculous. In my first year I acted as Student Affairs Representative on the SRC. I can’t wait to meet all of you, and I’m truly excited to get to know all of you!  I’ll be available in my room throughout the year if you ever need help, someone to study with, or just want to hang out for a while. If you want to chat a little before the year starts, or have any questions, ranging from questions about the school to my favourite condiment (donair sauce, by the way), send me an email at ebuck11@ubishops.ca. I love hearing from new people! Don’t forget your purple, future gaiters. Trust me, you’ll need it. And don’t forget to Raise A Toast!

Alexandra Trottier

Hello everyone! My name is Alexandra Trottier (but people often call me Alex) and I am really pleased to be your RA in Paterson and Munster residences for the 2012-2013 year! I have always lived in the North Shore region of Quebec in a town named Baie-Comeau. My mother tongue is French. Before coming to Bishop’s, I did 2 exchanges (the first was 3 months in Fort McMurray, Alberta and the second one was with the Explore program in Fredericton, New Brunswick). I decided to come to Bishop’s University because it is like a small community, it has relatively small classes, you can have easy access to teachers and people are really nice and friendly, and I don’t regret my choice. I also came to Bishop’s because I wanted to improve my English hoping that someday I could be teaching English.  I am going to be in my second year studying to become a Kindergarten and elementary school teacher and I really enjoy it.  In my free time, I love singing, listening to music, hanging out with friends, creating jewellery, doing cheerleading, doing sports, going for walks, watching movies and many others. I love doing things that are not common; I always want to challenge myself and push my limits to a farther level. If you want to hang out, talk, or if you have any concern or questions come and knock on my door, I will be pleased to talk to you. Like I said previously, Bishop’s is like a small community in itself and you will find friends for life. If you are like me, you will probably feel like you are building a second family here. You must be excited to get here, and trust me, you won’t be disappointed. University is an amazing opportunity and an extraordinary experience. If ever you have any questions, feel free to email me at atrottier112@ubishops.ca, it will be my pleasure to answer your questions. I look forward to meeting all of you.
