Parent Corner

For many new BU students, this will be the first time that they have been so far away from home, family, and childhood friends. As your child takes their first steps into independence, you may be asking yourself, "how can I best support my student as they begin this new stage in their lives?"

This section of our website is here to support you as your student experiences all of the highs and lows associated with university life. In our department, we may not be experts when it comes to parenting, but we have families too, and we have all had the experience of living on campus or supporting our own loved ones through the transition to university life.

Below, you will find useful information on how to support a BU resident, from how to send your student a care package to what you can expect based on a university student's academic "clock."

If you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to email one of our two Residence Life Coordinators, who are live-in professional staff members responsible for supervising our residents, student staff, and residence buildings.
