Winter 2013 REGISTRATION
New Degree Students & Exchange Students
Bishop’s faculty prides itself on student / faculty interaction and this begins even before classes do. You will be able to discuss with an academic advisor from your program and register for courses starting at 1:00pm on the afternoon of January 7th in the Gait, which is located in Marjorie Donald House (See our PDF campus map).
We recommend that you spend some time preparing in advance of the in-person registration session. Try to prepare a tentative schedule and decide on several alternate course choices. Keep in mind the following:
- A full course load is usually five 3-credit courses (15 credits total).
- Consider taking at least one or two courses outside of your major program.
- Look for courses at the 100-level (and perhaps 200-level if it is a course in an area with which you have some familiarity).
Helpful resources and tools to assist you in preparing for registration are linked below:
- Academic Calendar – read your program section in order to familiarize yourself with specific program requirements
- Winter 2013 Course Timetable – view which courses are offered and when during the Winter 2013 semester
- Timetable Grid Worksheet – work out a tentative schedule for yourself
- EWP (English Writing Proficiency Exam) – learn about this mandatory test for all new students
- Students with Disabilities Office – contact this Office as soon as possible if you require any special accommodations and to learn what supports are available at Bishop’s
- Help! Who Do I Ask? – contact information for all of the departments and services on campus
Should you have any specific questions about your program or need academic advice, your Departmental Chairperson or the Divisional Dean are excellent sources for information on your program's academic requirements. You may contact them prior to registration, as well as at any time during the semester. Make the best use of your time and theirs by being prepared.
We are looking forward to seeing you in the winter!
