Use of Health Services

This research theme addresses several issues related to the use of both physical and mental health care services that are of importance for Canadians, and residents of Quebec's Eastern Townships in particular given its large number of English-speaking community members. For example, access to health services in English is a key priority for English-speaking Townshippers when they are seeking care for a mental or physical illness. Taking a public health promotion approach, several cluster members have undertaken research projects to address issues in the use of health services that are relevant for improving health and well-being.

Three subthemes that capture current research by cluster members include:

  1. Health and Well-Being of Anglophone Minority in Quebec

  2. Use of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM)

  3. New Technology Development in the Provision of Health Services
